  • Starting Point: Begin your journey early from Kolkata or your chosen location
    to Godkhali, the gateway to the Sundarbans.
  • Travel Time: The drive from Kolkata to Godkhali takes around 3 4 hours depending on traffic conditions. (Approx. 110 km).

10:00 AM Arrive at Godkhali & Boat Ride to Gosaba

  • Arrival at Godkhali: Reach Godkhali, where you will board a motorized boat for your trip into the
    Sundarbans.
  • Boat Departure: Embark on a boat ride through the waterways of the Sundarbans to Gosaba.

10:30 AM Visit Gosab a (Hamilton Bungalow & Rabindra Nath Tagore Bungalow)

  1. Hamilton Bungalow:
    • The first stop is the Hamilton Bungalow, a colonial era bungalow once used by the British during the colonial period. It’s a glimpse into the
      history of the Sundarbans and its past as a colonial outpost.
    • Exploration Time: Spend about 20 30 minutes here, enjoying the history and the surroundings.
  2. Rabindra Nath Tagore Bungalow:
    • A short walk from Hamilton Bungalow, visit the Rabindra Nath Tagore Bungalow, where the great Bengali poet and philosopher stayed during his visit to the Sundarbans.
    • It’s a place of cultural and literary significance, as Tagore had a strong connection with this region.
    • Exploration Time: Spend around 20 minutes here.

12:00 PM Depart for Sajnekhali

  • Boat Ride to Sajnekhali: After exploring Gosaba, head towards Sajnekhali, a key spot in the Sundarbans Reserve Forest.

12:30 PM Visit Sajnekhali Watch Tower (W.T.)

  • Sajnekhali Watch Tower: Upon arrival at Sajnekhali, visit the Watch Tower. This tower offers panoramic views of the dense mangrove forests and waterways of the Sundarbans. From here, you can often spot wildlife, including crocodiles, spotted deer, an d a variety of bird species.
  • Exploration Time: Spend a round 30 45 minutes here to soak in the beauty and watch for wildlife.

1:30 PM Depart for Sudhanyakhali

  • Boat Ride to Sudhanyakhali: After visiting Sajnekhali, take the boat and head towards
    Sudhanyakhali.

2:00 PM Visit Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower (W.T.)

  • Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower: The next stop is the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower, one of the best spots for wildlife sightings. The tower offers a great view of the dense forest and the waterways, where tigers and other wildlife can sometimes be spotted.
  • Exploration Time: Spend around 30 minutes here. The area is also rich in birdlife, so keep your binoculars handy.

3:00 PM Depart for Panchmukhi Mohona

  • Boat Ride to Panchmukhi Mohona: After
    Sudhanyakhali, continue your boat ride to
    Panchmukhi Mohona, the confluence of five rivers in the Sundarbans. This is an important and scenic location offering beautiful view s and a quiet atmosphere.

3:30 PM Visit Panchmukhi Mohona

  • Panchmukhi Mohona: Spend some time at Panchmukhi Mohona to take in the scenic beauty where the rivers meet. It’s a peaceful location to observe the unique environment of the Sundarbans.
  • Photography & Exploration Time: Spend around 20-30 minutes here for photography and enjoying the surroundings.

4:00 PM Return Journey to Godkhali

  • Boat Ride Back to Godkhali: After visiting Panchmukhi Mohona, start your boat journey back to Godkhali.
  • Boat Ride Duration: The return journey typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

5:00 PM Arrive at Godkhali

  • Return to Godkhali: After reaching Godkhali, you will disembark from the boat
    and get back into your vehicle for the return journey.
